Pre-Exam Readiness Check Step 11: Test smartphone mic and speakers

Your invigilator will use the microphone and speakers within your smartphone to communicate with you on exam day.

Try the following general troubleshooting steps below if you are unable to access or use your smartphone microphone and speakers.

  • Check phone settings to ensure you have given the FIFA Football Agent Exam application permission to access your microphone
  • Check you have the most recent version of the smartphone app installed
  • Close any other applications on your smartphone that may be using your microphone/speakers and try again
  • Check you have clicked Start Session on the smartphone app
  • Check that the microphone volume is set high (and not muted) within the smartphone audio settings
  • Disconnect any other devices that may be being used as a microphone or speaker (such as headphones) from your smartphone, including Bluetooth enabled devices

Note: It is normal to hear a feedback loop when testing that your smartphone application is connected to the web session, as the two devices are situated close to one another. This means the system is working correctly.

 A. Follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. If you can see the wave form moving when you speak into your smartphone, but cannot the audio from the computers speakers, then please check you have the speakers on your computer turned on and unmuted.
  2. If you cannot see the waveform moving, and cannot hear the audio from the computers speakers
    • Close the FIFA Football Agent Exam app on your smartphone
    • Open another app that uses your speakers and verify that the speakers are working.
    • If the speakers are not working, this indicates there may be an issue with your smartphone or speakers. You will need to find a replacement device (note use of headphones are not permitted) and then restart the Pre-Exam Readiness Check.
    • If the speakers are working in another app, you should close that app, and restart your smartphone. You should then reattempt the Pre-Exam Readiness Check in full.
